I am looking to create class sets of the novels that I read to my students each year. I feel that my students are more engaged with the text and I can get them more involved with reading, when they have their own copy of the story in front of them. I read to my students daily, and together we read a novel a month. We do activities to inspire curiosity; and most books I choose are engaging and are part of a series. I've had multiple students continue to read and complete a series after I've read book one. I love to read and every year students' know when they get to my class, they will be reading a lot. They always leave having read multiple books and usually finding a topic or genre that interests them. The upper grade teachers always praise my students for continuing their reading after leaving my class. I would love to have multiple class sets. I've started collecting, but can only afford to buy a few books a month. With this donation, i will be able to re-use the books each year and reach so many students!
