I am an educator in the Indianapolis public schools system. The program that I teach is Cosmetology. Over a two year period I instruct 11th and 12th graders in the professional skills and practice of beautifying the face, hair and skin. I have been fortunate to receive a group of kids that are strong and determined individuals who respectively speak up for what they need and want. They understand that respect is a two way street and the relationship that I have developed with them over the last year has allowed us to achieve some wonderful results within our classroom and on the performance floor. We have cried together and definitely laughed together and we continue to be a support for one another. I love these kids with all my heart and want nothing but the best for each and every one of them, and anything I can do to make them successful in life, I will.
