Students need to see themselves in books: their culture, their race, their language, their identities. This is a collection of books that both increases the #own voices books at our library and the representation of ALL of the students at our school. It also includes books about the civil rights and how to be non-racist. These books will be made available in the library for ALL students at our school, and I, the librarian, will feature them in read-alouds and displays to increase the awareness of their availability. Our students will be so excited!
