My students struggle with long term reading. Their reading skills are severely low. With this novel, I will be able to create reading habits that my students will use for the rest of their lives. I will help them achieve a goal by completing and comprehending their first novel. I will help them learn how to debate and discuss topics effectively. This novel will be the center of a project for my students that will last for about two months total. They will have to complete diverse activities that harness their reading skills and boost skills they struggle with. At the end of our novel, students will be presented with a mock trial project. They will have to gather evidence and determine whether the main characters are guilty of the death of Mr. Pignati. This project will be unlike anything the students have done before.
