This will help my students learn the skills necessary to be successful in their future career. Critical thinking skills are more important than rote memorization of facts, and coding requires a lot of complex critical thinking. Programming robots is also a lot of fun, and anything that creates a joyous love of learning in education is invaluable! Coding using these robots will help create a spark which will hopefully ignite their interest in and passion for computer science. The donations provided will set my students on a learning path that will hopefully continue throughout their lifetime. Once the students have had a chance to explore programming in our classroom, several have expressed interest in starting an after school robotics club. Funding for this project will expose a lot of students to coding that might not otherwise get it.
