The letter storage boxes will be used to store magnetic letters that the students will use to sort for recognition and make words. Being able to touch and manipulate the letters themselves will serve to demonstrate the research that proves that tactile learning works best for a number of students. The storage bin themselves will help with classroom organization and proper maintenance of instructional tools with the intention of use from year to year. Reading and writing are connected. Thus ,the expo markers for this project will help to support writing across the curriculum through interactive writing and writer's workshop. With these markers, students will have an opportunity to show what they know and improve their knowledge of how words work as they move 'write' along with teacher direction through a shared reading and writing experience.
