The Chromebooks will be used on a daily basis for a variety of subjects and purposes. Intermediate elementary students are expected to be able to type out their writing and be fluent in their keyboarding skills. Currently, with limited access to Chromebooks, students have a difficult time developing these skills. Not only will the Chromebooks be used for typing out writing, the added technology will promote student engagement and ultimately increase content knowledge. In addition to accessing educational websites (iReady, Science A-Z, Mystery Science, etc.), students will be able to collaborate on projects and easily share their work (Padlet, Vocaroo, Google Drive, etc.). Students will also learn the foundational skill of navigating through the web. Technology in the classroom is all the more important for my students because our state standardized testing (MCAS) is now being administered on computers, so students are expected to have these computer skills.
