Most of my students present with sensory deficits and or sensory overloads. Through collaborative teaching with occupational therapists on our team, we will integrate these much-needed resources to help our students feel more grounded. The beanbag will be added to our "quiet corner" where students can decompress and also engage with the sensory gel shapes and discovery tubes to provide some calmness. The sound machine can be an option for those students who enjoy soothing sounds and lights. The magnetic counting and shape sorting activities will be introduced and taught in a 1:1 setting. They will be used to teach one to one correspondence, number identification, shape identification, and sorting by shape. The peg puzzles and "Fill it Up Jar" will be presented as activities to build fine motor strength and eye hand coordination during center time. The rhythm set will be utilized for our morning meeting where greeting peers, reviewing our schedule, and singing educational songs will be our focus. We will offer all of our students fun learning experiences with these new additions to our classroom.
