Our class runs on a very tight schedule with many required components since we use the workshop model. To keep portions of our lesson within the time constraints of our schedule, students are not able to be as involved in leading lessons. Our school recently upgraded our interactive whiteboards placing the computer that they are linked to mounted high on the wall above our projector, rendering our old document cameras unusable due to the cords inability to reach the processor. This does not allow my students to easily show their work and express their learning. It also prevents me from modeling our learning centers in an efficient and effective way to maintain our class schedule. This project will not only help me be a better teacher to my students, but it will help my students become better teachers to one another because they will be able to more easily step into my role and present math problems and communicate strategies in ways that only they can.
