I want to foster my student's love of reading, but many of the students can't afford to buy books and school supplies, so books often fall to the wayside. Other students love reading so much that it can be difficult to keep up with the amount of books they need! Books can take students to new places and stretch their imagination! At the moment the only books that I have in my classroom are science informational books that I have collected over the years. While the kids love to read these books, they need opportunities to read a larger variety of writing styles and topics. This project will start a classroom library that my students can borrow from, students from lower and higher grades can also check out the books so they could reach even beyond my own classroom!
