Every day I feel privileged to come to work and create with "my kids". I see in an urban setting, unfortunately everyone needs to fight a little harder every day, on many fronts. The students, the parents, the administration, and the teachers. That fight however is necessary, and so worth it. I aim to provide every material and tool necessary to ensure every student in my art room feels comfortable to draw, paint, or sculpt their personal story. I reference the past through exploration of historically significant artwork, we discuss the future, and we seek to capture the present on paper. These general classroom supplies are essential to encourage at risk students to become hard-working, positive, vocal, productive, passionate, and peaceful members of society.
