Early literacy is vital at the early grade levels so our students will be successful in school and in life. My campus needs hands-on reading materials to work with our struggling readers in small groups or during one-on-one intervention. The students need materials that can be differentiated at their level while working in a small group to help target their weaknesses and build on their skills to become stronger and more proficient readers. The hands-on reading centers will be used with students in all grade levels who are having reading difficulties. This would help students such as a kindergarten student struggling with alphabet letters and sounds, a 1st grader decoding different spelling patterns, or a 3rd grader who needs help reading simple sentences. The materials will help those students gain essential reading skills and confidence as a reader.
