We do rotation activities during class and so with just a few kits, we are able to have students take turns experiencing a place we are discussing in class. Since I teach world languages, they can travel to Europe, or South America within the classroom and see what we are talking about rather than just imagine. This new generation of students is more visual and the interactive technology helps keep them engaged. When we discuss ancient ruins they could see them and walk around them, or when we talk about works of art they would be able to wander a museum. This virtual reality kit would assist me in enriching these students with better knowledge and experience the world around them. I work in an area of high poverty where field trips and study abroad is not feasible for my students and this kit would go a long way in giving my students cultural experiences.
