Reading is an important part of our education. In order to do this my students need access to more reading materials. High interest books, books that students can relate to increase the desire to read. I am working on creating a space where students want to be. The joy of reading is in the words, through turning the pages of new books. The digital age provides so many things for our kids, the ability to put books in the hands of students is providing them will provide them with an opportunity that is different than what they are getting in this digital age. A mix of fiction and nonfiction books, graphic novels and award winning titles is a great way to build the classroom library. These books will be read in class and checked out to students to foster the love of reading.
