Many of my students are from Bangladesh, Vietnam, India, and other countries outside of the United States. They come from large families (aunts, uncles, grandparents etc.) that live together and half of the family works during the day while the other half works through the night. There is not often someone at home to reinforce behavior or learning practices. Many of my students also come from one parent families who are struggling to put food on the table much less help them with their homework or studying.
