I spent a few weeks going back and forth on the idea of creating a DonorsDhoose.org account. Honestly, it's just not easy for me to ask for money. However, I recently came to the realization that there is no possible way for me to afford simple items to make my classroom more functional for my VERY lively students. As a freshly credentialed teacher, I was hired less than 24 hours before the first day of school. I came into a classroom with minimal supplies and 27 eager students ready to learn. Little by little the students and I have been creating art, anchor charts and such to create a more inviting atmosphere. Our classroom is in most need of books and a comfortable setting to read them in. Currently our small classroom library consists of books published between the early 60's- late 70's. In my materials list I am asking for a few starter packs of 3rd-5th grade level books to get our classroom library going, as well as a rug to provide students with a comfortable place to lounge and read during independent reading time. I am also asking for many other classroom started supplies such as file crates and mailboxes for organization. Im hoping many of the materials will help build a safe and inviting community for my students. Any and all contributions are very appreciated!
