One of the greatest criticisms of the ELA education students receive in this country is that they do not have access to grade level texts. To combat this, I'd like to have several class sets of novels that are on grade level that we can work through together this year and in years to come. I am excited to read these texts with my students because they have rich language, will challenge them, and will introduce them to a new perspective. My 7th grade core ELA classes will love having meaningful conversation, learning from one another, and diving deeper into texts that challenge them and that they can relate to.
