These student activity math books will make a difference in my students' learning by providing them with a place to reinforce the skills they are learning daily as needed. We also do a math workshop model where students are engaged in games to practice these skills. Sometimes there is nothing like a paper book to hold, make mistakes in, and look back to remember our learning. These activity books will be used in certain independent, partner, and teacher led small groups. Some of the students may even take their workbooks home to do additional pages to earn rewards for going above and beyond in working on a difficult skill. It is also a concrete way to connect with parents to further support and extend learning outside the classroom. We will use Student Activity Book Volume 1 from the beginning of the year through roughly winter break and Volume 2 after winter break.
