Using these books, the students will pre-read chapters nightly at home. Then we will have class discussions the following day about the chapters incorporating reading comprehension skills into our discussions. Students' assessment scores will improve as they learn the skills needed to understand what they are reading. So many students do not like to read because they say it's boring. These novels will spark interest in reading as they are on topics the students enjoy. It is my wish that the novel studies will foster a love for reading that will last a lifetime.
