After nearly a decade of being without a certified librarian in the district, our community schools have reinstated their teacher librarian position. Due to the length of time that the district has been without a librarian, the collections are vastly in need of updates that reflect their diverse needs and interests. The library can be the heartbeat of the school with proper funding and resources. The books listed here are modern and current; most of the titles have been published within the last six years. There are also some classics included, but each selection emphasizes both the reality and celebration of diversity. The students of our school deserve a dynamic library that reflects their needs and interests.
