Currently, my students only have the opportunity to read in their schools desks, and with varying home lives, it is sometimes the only safe place they have to read. I want to create a comfortable environment that allows a student to immerse themselves in a book, not simply skim over it in a busy classroom environment. With the addition of beanbag chairs and a rug to the corner of the room, I will be able to create a space for my students to sit under lamplight and get lost between the pages. With these simple changes, I feel that I can captivate and cultivate my students into becoming life long readers.

About my class
