Because of high enrollment, my students and I need a string bass for our orchestra classes. The string basses that we currently have are owned by the school district and are over 20 years old. One bass has a back that is about half-way detached from the body of the instrument. We have 2 orchestras at Hercules High School that rehearses 5 days a week and are lacking instruments for all students. We have 6 students in the advanced orchestra who play the string bass and 3 students who play the same instrument in the intermediate orchestra. Our school currently has 4 string basses.
