This year, I want to incorporate the use of a classroom library for my students. I want them to be able to choose books from the library to begin to read on their own, but I also want to provide books that will give them insight into American culture. Some of my students have lived here for a long time, but a majority of them come from other countries and have just arrived. I would like for them to feel like they can go into their other classrooms with some background information already. The books I have chosen for this project will provide them with that background.
