Working with diverse learners brings a different joy to your heart especially when they are determined to learn. Each day, my students transition to multiple classes within the day and have a lack of urgency to learn new curriculum because they are still hungry after breakfast. The majority of students within CPS come from low-income families and look forward to eating at school. If provided these materials, my students will have the opportunity to focus and engage in class throughout the day. Being able to provide snacks will ensure the students that someone cares about their personal well being just as much as their education. I would like to be that teacher my students can trust and confide in when they aren't getting the proper meal intake. I feel in my heart my students will come to school ready to learn because they appreciate having someone that cares. The snacks will help build trust and I'll be content knowing that I've taken the extra steps to ensure each child will focus on getting the proper education. No child will be left behind!
