These kids only have heart and talent. They come from very low income areas, and come to practice in shorts, cut off sweats or jeans. Having some quality equipment that will assist them to see that sports can be a road to success. They want to improve, but second or third hand bats and socks can only go so far. They have set a goal of being an all academic team in the City Conference, but I want them to succeed on the field as well as the classroom. They can do it, they just need to know they can and look like they can.
