Having a complete Listening Center in my classroom would give all of my students an opportunity to explore new worlds and travel distant and faraway lands no matter their reading abilities. Over the years I have pieced together a library of audiobooks with physical copies of the book to match. However, I have never had reliable stereos or headphones to last throughout the years. As the research suggests, following along to stories read-aloud greatly improves students' reading as it models fluency, accuracy, and expression at a steady and appropriate rate. These components are all crucial to engaging students in the adventures found within texts. Your donations will help bring excitement and motivation to all of my students. It will help them in reading grade-level texts and put them on the path toward future success and instill a love of reading.
