When students are struggling within the classroom, many of their behaviors can lead to missed instructional time, distractions to other students, and internalized beliefs that they are not worthy of a quality education. That's where I hope to step in to help get students back into a learning mindset where they believe in themselves and know that they have someone in their corner. As a new social worker who can't wait to meet her students, I want to make sure that those who step into my office feel welcome, comfortable, and inspired to have a great day. Fidget toys for those who struggle with opening up, or with compulsive behaviors can be crucial to getting a student back on track for the day. In addition, comfortable and unique seating allows for students to feel in control of their bodies and space within an office that may otherwise feel cold and scary. Please consider helping a new social worker make her space bright and exciting for students with all different needs!
