School libraries can provide equitable access to information and technology for all learners. With a well-supported library, studies confirm that school librarians help student achievement. Librarians can support the school curriculum and goals through curation of print and digital resources. In this time of COVID, access to information and literature is even more important. For this project, I am focusing on increasing engagement during COVID and helping my students connect with stories that they want to read. Currently, my library collection contains books with an average age of over 10 years old. With new books, I will be able to share new stories with my students. Students should be able to access stories that they will enjoy. Literary appreciation starts with a good book. Remote learning has many challenges, and engagement is one of the primary ones. With the new resources, I will be able to increase engagement during our virtual lessons and connect with my students.
