These materials will help to make a difference in our students' lives by creating a warm and inviting environment for them to think, reflect, write and to create. When a student feels distressed my role is to comfort them and to help guide and give them the necessary tools to change their mindset that will help to create the change. With new furniture (lamps, rugs, chairs), beautiful wall pictures, books, lamps, doodling maps, and other building games I can create a sanctuary place for students to come and feel safe, loved and take time to reflect. Students will be able to solve problems with the tools that will help them to pause and think before reacting. I often bring the outdoors into my counseling. This especially is a great tool to help students focus and to keep calm. As nature in itself brings joy, happiness and a peace of mind.
