My students are fortunate enough to be in a one-to-one program in which they each have their own Chromebooks. However, our class size and limited classroom outlets means that students must often take turns charging their devices, leading to dead computers and instructional time wasted. Less time charging means more time learning. With their technology, students have access to differentiated math instruction, audiobooks, research sites to support science and social studies work, and opportunities to develop the 21st century skills that they will need to be successful. However, minutes spent waiting for an open outlet or untangling wires can add up to hours of lost time. This classroom charging station will organize students' Chromebooks, ensure that every student can plug in their device so it is ready for the next day, and protect the devices from power surges. It will ensure that my students are spending as much time as possible learning, which is vital.
