The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students will truly make a difference! I am planning to use these materials to help make ELA and STEM centers that will benefit ALL students. There are many high-quality phonics and math activities that were chosen intentionally to target the differing levels of my very diverse learners. With ESE students as well as ELL students in my classroom, I often use colorful visuals to help with their engagement and understanding. The printer will be used to create materials for the classroom in color, since our school printers only print in b/w. I wanted to purchase a school printer for to give my students some color to keep them engaged. Also, I use whiteboards almost daily to work out math problems and practice ELA foundational skills. A new set that has handwriting lines would be wonderful for helping the students with their penmanship. The donations to this project will help to improve my students' engagement, as well as provide differentiated and intentional centers to develop literacy and math fluency. By implementing these center activities, my students can take their learning into their own hands. The students will use these materials to develop vital skills they will require in the future. As a fifth year teacher, I have seen the impact that high amounts of engagement have on student learning. Visual support, especially in color, truly makes a difference.
