Reading a variety of texts is fundamental to a student's academic success! Our class is in need of a wide range of print material that will provide and serve as a different medium of information. The magazines provides the students with narrative non-fiction texts, plays, paired texts for comparisons, and debate topics among its many uses. These magazines include high interest reading for both my academically gifted students and my students who have learning challenges. My students need to be more than just proficient readers and mathematicians. They need need to be exceptional. How can they be when their teacher is in need of basic supplies?
