The wish items will be used for a small counseling group room. The request is to make it comfortable and inviting to help create a sense of calm for students to have a therapeutic setting. The decor of a room sets the tone or mood of an environment, and my students need a space to feel safe, welcomed, and peaceful. My students encounter many traumatic events. The offerings of small groups help support students in need of extra attention when facing a death, divorce, incarcerated parent(s), unhealthy relationships, and low self-worth. Their smiles are priceless when they feel they belong.
