Teachers are always asking their students to calm down or settle down without teaching them how to do that. I want to give my students simple directions and tools to do that. However, one type of fidget will not benefit all students the same so I am requesting various types of small fidgets that Kindergarten students can easily use without distracting others. I am creating Fidget Tool Boxes with several types of small handheld fidgets. The students can find a fidget tool that helps them to calm their anxiety and restlessness. By using a fidget, the children will be able to concentrate better and focus on their assignments and tasks. Students can add these calming tools to their repertoire as they learn to manage their worries and anxieties. Thus, they will become more successful in school and outside of school. My students will be life long learners and successful, productive adults who can manage the stressors in our ever-changing world.
