I was inspired to do this project after doing research on the ADHD brain. I am realizing that my students, even those without ADHD, need to stay engaged in the classroom in order to learn. It is not always that a student is not wanting to do well or not trying, they may need a way to stay active so that they can concentrate. Students will benefit from the ability to have an alternative seating choice and will thrive in the environment that I plan to create. The adjustable height wobble seating and balance boards will allow students to keep their bodies active so that they can engage fully in the learning environment. The weighted blanket will help those needing a bit of pressure to calm the senses enough to allow optimal focus.
