Flexible seating will allow my students to focus on the task at hand. During independent or group work time, they choose a location in the classroom that works for them. Currently, my students are choosing to work in a variety of locations in our room such as: sitting at their desks with clip boards, sitting on the floor with clip boards, or sitting or laying on a small carpet with clip boards. Unfortunately, the rug can only fit about six students comfortably. Making sure students are comfortable is a vital and essential component in their ability to maintain focused and excel as they work through their task(s). My students are very grateful for what we do have, and that is why this project is so significant. I have noticed amazing differences in my students when they are given a choice in their seating, but they have also expressed how they wished our classroom had more seating options. The products that I have selected will help my students, by giving them additional seating options to make for a more comfortable environment which will positively enhance their learning experiences. The starfish chairs will allow students to sit at desks or various parts of the room, but will still allow for some movement. They will be extremely beneficial for those students that just need to get the wiggles out. They can also be used as the ​author's chairs when students meet to work on their writing pieces. They will feel empowered as they sit in the chairs when they meet in their book clubs as well. They are lightweight and can be easily used in many areas of the classroom. I have seen how much of an impact a comfortable seating arrangement can make and I wish that for my students.
