The resources will go toward the students creating a 2-D and 3-D ancient Rome home. The poster board will serve as the foundation for the house and infrastructure, such as roads and sidewalks. The walls, roof, and columns of the house will be made out of sturdy construction paper glued together. Students will label the rooms with markers. My project will relate to the Latin stories the class is reading in which Roman houses are described. Several of the chapters in the textbook we use have stories in which the characters are located in specific rooms; for example the tablinum (study) or the garden (hortus). The project will serve to help students understand the basic layout of a Roman house and how people functioned in the rooms.
