As a first-year teacher, I am creating a base for STEAM lessons and independent work. Students are excited and engaged in studying the different aspects of science, technology, engineering, art, and math. The products in this order support both group class lessons in these subjects and individual time. In a class with exceptional students, hands-on and creative materials engage students and help them shape their behavior positively so they are able to participate. Exciting interactive kits such as Picasso magnet builds, coding, building structures, and experiments let students go beyond the book and a traditional worksheet. The excitement of the activity is what engages these students in wanting to participate in academics.
