My students are energetic kindergarteners who have trouble sitting still and focusing. This is pretty typical for 5 year olds in their first year in the classroom. Research has shown that introducing flexible seating into the classroom increases concentration and enhances learning. I would love to introduce flexible seating in the form of wobble chairs. The wobble chairs would be implemented around my kidney table for small group centers and collaboration. They could also be moved around the classroom for other partner seating. These would replace regular chairs and help students stay focused and attentive during our centers. I will be able to use these stools for years to come to help all students, especially those with hyperactivity and impulsive issues.
