The materials for my project will be used to serve two purposes. First to decorate my classroom, and make it a comfortable and colorful place for students to learn and grow. Secondly to fill the bookshelves with stimulating literature that will be used for many years to come to help open the minds of inner-city students. “Once you learn to read, you will be forever free.” The words of the inspiring American Frederick Douglass resonate within my classroom. My goal is to give each of my students the freedom to pursue their dreams in any way they desire, through their ability to read. Help me open their minds to new worlds through literacy and learning.
