My students come to me with different learning styles due to their different backgrounds. As a teacher, I know that I have a difficult time sitting during meetings, training classes, or lectures. I can't imagine how hard it must be for my students that have to sit for a long periods of time. They are 7 or 8 years old with an attention span of 8 minutes and they are expected to sit and learn. I am trying new ways to keep my students engaged. With flexible seatIng, I believe it will allow my students to be engaged and learn by allowing them to have a choice of seats that will motivate them to learn. Flexibly seating will promote students creativity and collaboration. It will allow students to work towards gradual change within practical constraints. Flexible seating will allow the students to feel more comfortable and relax which will help them focus and learn the curriculum and get them ready for 3rd grade.
