I am trying to create a sustainable mindset for 4th graders. We currently have very few sustainable practices in our school. Gardening and farming is the backbone of any society - because we have to eat. Our students would become advocates for a healthier, sustainable future if they were awarded the same opportunities as schools with money to spend. Our students are able to articulate needs for their community. With resources, education, and support, our students will bring equitable points of view to standardized content expectation. I chose these AquaSprouts Garden kits to bring the beauty of horticulture, sustainability, and choice into the devoid environment. These 3 kits will cover 3 grade levels 3-5. Teachers are more likely to implement ideas and curriculum when there is authenticity. Our students will learn community career opportunities, science standards, community processes, and math through these indoor- sustainable gardens. They will also learn mindfulness, empathy, and responsibility as we care for living creatures and plants. Please support our 'beginnings' to a sustainable, healthy future.
