Pocket charts are a staple in first grade. They help us to teach independency at the first grade level by allowing students to transition between workstations on their own. In these stations students read books, write, engage in mathematics, and so much more. My school doesn’t have the resources to supply each first grade teacher with a pocket chart so some of us are going without. With these materials I will be able to engage my students in individualized project-based reading, writing, and other valuable workstations. This would be such a powerful learning tool for my incredible students as well as a helpful tool for me!
