By reading this book, my students will be able to make connections to their everyday life. The majority of my students come from a migrant background and have hard working parents who decided to leave their country of origin to give their family a better life. This book talks about the hardships of leaving one's country in search of the American Dream. My students will be able to appreciate all the opportunities they have here in this country and experience what it is like to go through obstacles to reach a goal. Reading this book will create a huge impact in their lives, because they will be able relate to the young man who left everything behind in the search of a better future.
