The school that I work at unfortunately does not have functioning air conditioners in most of the rooms. On the 3rd floor, it can get upwards of 100 degrees which is not only harmful but not conducive to teaching. I have 90 students who pass through my classroom on a daily basis. They cannot concentrate on work and it does not encourage productivity. Many of my student have underlying health issues (asthma, nose bleeds) that are exacerbated by being in a room with no air conditioning. Water fountains on the third floor either don't work or produces hot water. Studies have shown that air conditioning promotes a positive learning environment. The scholar concentrate on the work at hand as opposed to the temperature of the classroom.
