Band instruments teach students discipline, organization, left/right brain balance, science of sound, and the six elements of music. Music is a fun way of synthesizing learning in a cooperative group setting. Reading notation and decoding are other learned skills. Students will get to check out, practice at home and perform in local parades, music concerts, museum trips and learn hands-on training. We have won several band awards with our Campbell Coyote band program! Over 200 students in grades 5th - 8th benefit from our band program! The cost for students is almost free. We only require reeds, drum sticks and certain oils for each instrument. We want every student at our school to have the opportunity to learn a band instrument.
