I work in a school that provides educational, behavioral and cognitive services to students with developmental and cognitive disabilities. This population of student often find it difficult to focus on the traditional school environment. I am hoping to provide an alternative seating option for them to be able to engage in movement while still seated during a lesson. These flexible seating options will allow my students to access the movement they need while giving them a better opportunity to remain engaged in the curriculum. Flexible seating provides a positive way to access the movement they often need throughout the day. It will help teach my students that they can get the movement that they need while continuing to be an active participant in classroom activities.
