My students will do excellent by experiencing rich print text in a variety of genres to help them develop and deepen their comprehension skills through increasingly complex text. Students completed a reading survey at the beginning of the school year which helped us choose high interest books. I want to help my students build their personal individualized library to create ownership of their learning, which will create lifelong readers. They are able to enjoy the literature while increasing their vocabulary and comprehension skills. What's so special about my students is that are already showing signs of becoming avid readers. That is why I am so motivated in making sure that I provide students with the tools to be successful readers. Being apart of a Title 1 school we have to constantly create opportunities for students to explore the world through literature one book at a time.
