Students learn best in music when they have the opportunity to have a hands-on experience. I am seeking to complete my set of classroom hand drums. These drums can be used with all classes, kindergarten to fifth grade. Students will be able to create and express rhythm patterns along with simple accompaniments. For example, when we are learning various rhythms, students will be able to keep a steady beat with the drum. Students will also be able to accompany a melodic tune with the hand drum. In many of the lessons I teach on rhythm, students often are asked to clap or pat. I am hoping to incorporate the drums to diversify the sounds we can make while still keeping the lesson goals clear.
