Math is a key subject that is impacted in our daily life. There isn't a day that goes by that math is not involved. My students love to learn and with these added resources, their learning will sky rocket. Having hands-on activities will allow my students to manipulate their learning in a whole new way. It also allows them to collaborate their thinking with their peers really focusing on that math talk and sharing ideas. "Mathematics is not about numbers, equations, computations, or algorithms: it is about understanding", William Paul Thurston. With these resources, I am building that understanding that my students need in a non-practical way. Not only am I equipping them for school, but I am preparing them for their future.
